About
I am a self-taught painter and sculptor living in rural Worcestershire.
My work in both disciplines is influenced very much by my surroundings and by my love of nature, especially garden plants, domestic animals and birds, all of which feature widely in my pieces.
I work across a range of materials painting in both oils and acrylics and drawing in charcoal, pencil and soft pastels. I am unable to resist bright colours and most pieces are large and cheerful.
In my sculpture I work initially in clay which is then cast in broze resin. I have also recently created a small, highly-stylised horse which was cast into bronze for me by the specialist caster and sculptor Paul Kennedy.
Recently I have been drawn increasingly to including elements of collage into my paintings and use newsprint, snippets torn from magazines or old books and coloured tissue paper to add depth and texture to my work.
For Sale
Almost all of my work is for sale, although some of the pieces shown here have already found their forever homes! Prices start at around £100 for an unframed drawing. Please get in touch if you would like to to make an appointment to visit my studio to see the work in person.
Commissions
I am also happy to undertake commissions and am especially interested in painting peoples’ gardens for them.
